Privacy Policy

We believe privacy should be straightforward. This policy explains what information ScaledUp Biz collects, why we collect it, and the choices available to arborists and tree-service businesses.

Effective and last updated: July 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how ScaledUp Biz (“ScaledUp Biz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you visit arborist.scaledupbiz.com, appointments.scaledupbiz.com, use our forms, communicate with us, or use our arborist marketing and appointment generation services (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you are acting for a business, you confirm that you are authorized to provide information on its behalf.

01 Information we collect

Information you provide

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact information, such as your first and last name, business email address, and phone number.
  • Business information, such as business name, website, role, tree-service area, industry, and annual revenue range.
  • Service and account information, such as your requested services, appointments, preferences, communications, billing details, and records relating to our business relationship.
  • Communications, including messages, form responses, call notes, and feedback you send to us.

Information collected automatically

When you use our website, we and our technology providers may automatically collect device and usage information, including IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps, and cookie or similar identifiers.

Information from other sources

We may receive information from advertising platforms, analytics providers, customer relationship management tools, scheduling and communications providers, public business sources, referral partners, and other parties you direct to share information with us.

02 How we use information

We may use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, personalize, and improve the Services.
  • Evaluate eligibility, service-area availability, and business fit.
  • Respond to inquiries and schedule or deliver appointments.
  • Communicate about your application, account, purchases, services, updates, offers, and events.
  • Process transactions, maintain records, and manage our relationship with you.
  • Measure website performance, understand engagement, and improve our advertising and marketing.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful or unlawful activity.
  • Comply with law, enforce agreements, and protect our rights and the rights of others.

Where required by law, we rely on your consent, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business.

03 How we share information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers that support hosting, analytics, advertising, customer relationship management, communications, scheduling, payment processing, security, and professional services.
  • Advertising and analytics partners that help us understand performance, measure campaigns, and deliver relevant ads.
  • Business partners and clients when necessary to provide a service you requested or with your direction or consent.
  • Authorities and other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests; protect safety and rights; or investigate misconduct.
  • Transaction parties in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business or assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws may define certain advertising or analytics disclosures as “sharing,” “selling,” or “targeted advertising.” You may have the right to opt out of those activities as described below.

04 Cookies and advertising

We and our providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the website functioning, remember preferences, analyze traffic, measure conversions, and support advertising. These technologies may connect activity across websites, devices, or sessions.

You can limit cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect website functionality. You can also use industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative. Your choices may be browser- or device-specific.

Because there is not yet a universally accepted response to browser “Do Not Track” signals, our website may not respond to them. Where legally required and technically supported, we recognize qualifying opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control.

05 Email and SMS communications

If you provide your email address or phone number, we may contact you about your inquiry, application, appointments, or our Services. Where required, we will obtain consent before sending marketing email or text messages.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message and opt out of marketing texts by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply. We may still send non-marketing messages, such as replies to your requests, appointment details, and service notices.

06 Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Services, maintain business and transaction records, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on the nature of the information and our legal and operational needs.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

07 Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information; to withdraw consent; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. You may also have the right to appeal our response or complain to a privacy regulator.

To make a request, email hello@scaledup.biz with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. Tell us the right you wish to exercise and the jurisdiction where you live. We may need to verify your identity and authority before fulfilling a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Additional notice for U.S. residents

The categories of personal information we may have collected in the preceding 12 months include identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet or electronic activity, approximate geolocation, and professional or employment-related information. The sources, purposes, and categories of recipients are described throughout this policy. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

08 International transfers

We and our service providers may process personal information in the United States, Canada, and other countries. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

09 Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
